Electrical
Please make sure we have access to all rooms, garages and outbuildings.
Ensure access to all distribution boards and we must be able to remove their covers. If locked keep key handy.
Make sure there is enough units in the prepaid meter (if applicable) for us to conduct our tests.
Remove all redundant leads.
Check that all lights have their covers in place. (e.g. ball lights)
Check that all your lights are working. There must be at least one working light per room.
Electrical globes or any appliances or motors are not covered by your certificate.
Hot water cylinders, piping, satellite dishes and television aerials needs to be properly bonded and earthed. Recall the installer to amend if recently done.
Gas
Ensure the area surrounding the LP gas bottle is clean and cleared of any combustibles.
Ensure the shut of valve is accessible.
Provide the equipment serial numbers to the inspector, if available.
Electric Fence
Ensure we have access to the energizer.
Ensure that all vegetation is cleared away from the electrical fence.

You, your agent or your transferring attorney can request that we perform these inspections for you.
Once we receive the request we will contact the seller, who is generally responsible for the costs involved, to get their permission and make the necessary arrangement to perform the inspections.
The inspection fees are a consultation fee and are due and payable irrespective of the outcome of our inspection.
Inspection fees are COD and can be paid by card or cash on day of inspection.
The inspections have two possible outcomes, everything is clear and within regulation, if this is the case we will issue the certificate at no additional cost above the inspection fees.
Should the installation not be compliant or within regulation we will issue you a report, with a quote, to do the necessary rectifications.
At this point you may decide to accept our quotation after which we will affect the necessary rectifications and issue the certificate OR You may decide to rather not accept our quotation and make use of another company to affect the repairs AND issue you your certificate.
We cannot issue certificates on the work of other as it is also a guarantee of workmanship and material. If you do decide to make use of another company please ensure that they are qualified and capable of issuing you with a certificate.
However, if you accept the quote your transferring attorney can issue us with a "letter of undertaking" This is a standard practice and all that is required from you, or your selling agent, is to forward the quote to your attorney.
We will then be paid by your attorney on the day of transfer out of the proceeds of the sale.
Payment can also be COD.
